Is knowledge management really hard? ‘Knowledge Management in Theory and Practice’: mandatory reading.

It’s time to reward people commenting on this site. I’ve added a new section the bottom right sidebar called ‘Most Comments’ that will show all of the people that have posted comments on the site.

I’ve set this up as a sort of reward to people that have been posting comments on the site. This way, if you include a link when posting your comments, a link to your own site will appear on my front page. That way, you’ll get some recognition and some free web traffic for posting comments here.

Let me know what you think of this new feature. Once people start posting comments, their names will start showing up in this section.

By the way, the ‘Show Top Commentators’ Wordpress plugin can be downloaded from Personal Finance Advice. It’s free and very easy to install (although I found it through johntp.com).

I’m having trouble getting this to show up on my blog. Any tips?

I’ve uploaded and activated it under plugins, but it doesn’t show up in the sidebar widgets tool.
Maybe does it take a day for it to fil in?
    Thanks!

HI AgentSully. You need to add in the code shown in Step 3 at this page to your sidebar.

The instructions that are there tell you how to do it — but if you still need further help, just let me know and I’ll try to explain where in the sidebar template to put it. Let me know if that helps or if you need further instructions. :)

This seems like an upcoming trend, but there’s nothing wrong with rewarding your top contributors!

This a fantastic plugin. I have installed it my own blog.

Besides being a great plugin, I think this is also the way the web is supposed to work. As long as you’re linking to useful (non-spammy) sites, I don’t see anything wrong with the links being followed.

    Glad you’ve all enjoyed this.

Neither this nor Tag Cloud work in my site. Just like AgentSully.

I added it as a Widget (there is a version) and also tried pasting code just as instructed. Nothing happens. Not even a default text message.

    Any help is appreciated.

Hi Cheo — I just recently managed to get the tag cloud working. It took a bit of time, but there were several things that weren’t immediately obvious to me when I started out. I’m not using a widget, but rather have the code in the template itself. You actually need to create a tag.php file to display the archive pages as well.

I don’t know how much help that is, but let me know if you need more details.

Thanks Halim… hope to see you around the site!

Yes, top commentator is a great way to increase a reader. For example, I’m still learning about SEO and blogging stuff with my new site. Sure I will search on Google to find which site that has use top commentator for their site to get more link for my site. This is because top commentator is more easier to find than dofollow search as it bring to content and not the plugin. That is where I find this blog and I’m sure the process could be same with other that still new in net.

I haven’t done much searching for sites with the Top Commentators plugin, but maybe I should! I’d be interested to see how many people out there are using the plugin, and what their satisfaction level is with it.
