If you’ve ever stumbled across LinkedIn, you know it’s a great networking tool that actually works (I’ve tried a few other tools that have always gave me that multi-level-marketing kind of feeling).

You can not only see the people that you have in your network, but you can also see the people that they have in their network. It’s a very interesting tool that can allow you to meet some great contacts that you wouldn’t have met otherwise.

Marios Alexandrou, whose blog I read regularly, posted about getting in touch via LinkedIn, and I thought I’d echo his suggestion. If you already have a LinkedIn profile and would like to get in touch with me on LinkedIn, use the contact form here at Uncommon Knowledge to let me know and I’ll send you an invite.

If you haven’t used LinkedIn before, it’s free and actually kind of fun.

Incidentally, I see that Guy Kawasaki has published his ideas on the ten best ways to use LinkedIn. There’s some interesting ideas there, especially on using LinkedIn’s profile to improve your Google PageRank (tip #3).
